Learn to throw one day course:

Course runs from 9am-4pm Saturday 25th May

Learn to throw on the wheel in our one day workshop! The workshop has been designed for those who are wanting to learn the skill and technique of ceramic wheel throwing in a day rather than attend our 4 week learn to throw courses.

We will cover an introduction to the ceramic process including; how to centre clay, throw vessels on the wheel, trim pieces, pull and attach handles, and prepare your pieces for firing. An additional 2Hr glazing workshop is an option to book separately or you can choose to have your pieces glazed clear.

Outline of the day:

9am Arrival and coffee for a 9:15am start

9:15-11 Demonstration of the throwing technique and guided practice

11-11:15 Morning tea break

11:15-1 Guided practice of throwing vessels

1-1:30 Lunch provided.

1:30-3:45 Trimming vessels and pulling a handle tutorial/practice

3:45 Clean up for a 4pm finish

Our courses are designed to be relaxed and fun, and our staff will work closely with you to best support your ideas and practice!

Nitty Gritty…

*included in the price is the bisque and clear glaze firing of approx 6-8 pieces (depending on size). Any additional pieces can be fired for an additional $15/kg

*Up to 10kg of clay is included in course (any additional can be purchased for $3/kg)

*if circumstances change and you can’t make the course, we are happy for you to send someone in your place. Refunds and credits are not available on this course.
